Who We Are 

Atlanta Free School in Atlanta, Georgia is a culturally affirming, democratic school, where children co-design their academic day with compassionate facilitators. Atlanta Free School is a school founded in liberation and empowerment for all people.

What We Are About

Our mission is to create a culturally responsive, trauma-informed community where learning is a byproduct of living joyfully. We trust each of our students to co-design an environment that speaks to their unique interest and passions, and to drive their education in ways that are meaningful and sustainable. We're inspired by other democratic schools such as Sudbury Valley and Brooklyn Free School.
